Dr. Anant Raj is a Research Scientist in the Modern Nuclear I&C group at 91°µÍø (ORNL). He received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from North Carolina State University (NCSU) and was a postdoc at NCSU and Purdue University before joining ORNL. He is currently supporting MLOPs and ML infrastructure development and prognostics and diagnostics for accelerator beam at spallation neutron source (SNS) and prognostics and health management (PHM) for hydro power fleet. He led the materials thrust of the Cynics group at Purdue University. Working at the intersection of multiscale Multiphysics modeling and artificial intelligence (AI) for both nuclear and non-nuclear applications, the core theme of his research involves using AI for integrating simulations and experiments, a key enabler for realizing digital twins.  He has a highly diverse research profile, leading and contributing to projects in the domain of materials under extreme environment, nanoscale energy transport, advanced manufacturing, and predictive health monitoring, working on a wide range of applications like accident tolerant fuels, very high temperature reactor, liquid metal reactor, transformational challenge reactor, accelerated fuel testing etc. He has mentored multiple (5+) graduate and undergraduate students and a couple of postdocs at NCSU and Purdue University.
