Debjani Singh

Research Scientist

I am a Research Scientist at the Environmental Sciences Division in 91°µÍø (ORNL).

My primary research interest is to understand interactions between water-energy-climate at diverse spatial and temporal scales. I use data science to address challenging water resources management problems, and analyze complex environmental data for better environmental management and policy decisions.

Prior to joining ORNL, I worked as a Data Scientist in the Industry and as Research Scientist at Texas A&M University, I have a PhD in Earth Sciences from Purdue University.

As the principal investigator, I lead DOE's Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO) funded project which is a comprehensive and unique National Water-Energy digital platform that supports and enables hydropower research and development at national scale on U.S. hydropower market acceleration, deployment, resources assessment and characterization, environmental impact reduction, technology-to-market activities, and climate change impact assessment

I also lead ORNL DAAC's (Distributed Active Archive Center) ingest team which is responsible for curation, documentation and publication of research data from NASA’s Earth Science Missions.
