Feng Ye

Senior Scientist and Group Leader, Single Crystal Diffraction Group

Feng Ye received his Ph. D. in Physics from University of California, Santa Cruz. He joined ORNL in 2003 as a post-doctoral fellow, working at the High Flux Isotope Reactor, and became a staff member at since 2008. He was responsible for the construction and commissioning of the Corelli single-crystal diffuse scattering diffractometer housed at the Spallation Neutron Source. He has co-authored over 160 scientific papers. He is a frequent reviewer for scientific journals and beamtime proposals.  He is also an active member of the American Physics Society, American Crystallographic Association. He is currently the group leader for the Single Crystal Diffraction Group and instrument scientist for the Corelli.

Dr. Ye's research covers the interplay of the structure and magnetism in strongly correlated electron systems. He employs diffraction and inelastic scattering methods and is interested in developing complex sample environments for scattering studies.
