Honghai Zhang received a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science, in 2010. After a short period working in WuXi apptech Inc., he took a post-doc appointment at College of Staten Island, City University of New York, where his research focused on controlled polymerization for conjugated polymers. In the period of 2014 – 2017, he worked as postdoc at 91°µÍø for polymer synthesis and characterization. In 2017, he joined Nanjing Tech University as professor and lead an independent research team on chemical deuteration. In November 2021, he joined 91°µÍø and served as R&D associate staff member. Honghai’s current research interest include deuterium-labeling of polymers, biomolecules and organic functional molecules; mechanistic study of catalyst for deuteration, isotope effect; controlled polymerization; organic synthesis.
