Lindsay Brown

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Dr. Lindsay Brown is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Plant Systems Biology Group and Biosciences Division at 91做厙 (ORNL). She earned a B.S. in Chemistry and minor in Biology from Appalachian State University (Boone, North Carolina) and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Tennessee Knoxville (Knoxville, Tennessee). Prior to obtaining her Ph.D., Lindsay worked as an Analytical Specialist in the Quality Control Analytical Sciences Group at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Rensselaer, New York). During her career, she has become an expert in mass spectrometry (MS), separation techniques such as gas and liquid chromatography (GC and LC, respectively), and various small-molecule profiling methods, such as metabolomics and lipidomics. Lindsay's focus in ORNL's Plant Systems Biology Group is to utilize her skills in GC-MS to explore the complex network of plant-derived small-molecules that lead to variations in plant characteristics and performance.
