
Bio
Mary Odom joined the Spallation Neutron Source in 2019 as Scientific Associate overseeing the operations of the Neutron Spin Echo (NSE) instrument, and in 2022 took on operations at the SEQUOIA instrument, also. She received a Ph.D. in Microbiology with an emphasis in virology and computational biology from the University Alabama Birmingham (2010). Her prior experience includes research in immunology, computer network and server administration, adjunct faculty member in Microbiology, and volunteer tour guide for ORNL and signature facilities of the Manhattan Project with the American Museum of Science and Energy.
