
Bio
In August 2022, Matthew Boebinger transitioned from his position as the Directed Nanoscale Transformation theme science Postdoctoral Research Associate to a new role as a User Facility Electron Microscopist at ORNL's Center for Nanophase Materials Science in the Materials MicroÃ…nalysis Group. His research expertise is on the use of advanced in situ characterization techniques using electron microscopes to investigate the nanoscale transformations that materials undergo as a result of a variety of external stimuli. Current work involves the use of automated electron beam manipulation in STEM for direct fabrication and defect/edge engineering and characterization of 2D materials.
