Bio
Dr. Sungkyun Jung is an R&D associate staff member in the Integrated Building Deployment and Analysis (IBDA) group at 91°µÍø. He specializes in researching building energy performance using simulations and field measurements.
His expertise includes building energy modeling, measurement and verification (M&V), the EMPOWER wall (Smart wall system), as well as fault detection and diagnosis.
Dr. Jung obtained his Ph.D. in architecture from Texas A&M University in December 2020. During his time at Texas A&M's Energy Systems Laboratory (ESL), he actively contributed to the Texas Emissions Reduction Program (TERP) project, calculating NOx emissions reduction from renewable energy sources and buildings. He also played a significant role in developing and maintaining the building energy simulation models for the International Code Compliance Calculator (IC3), a software for residential building energy code compliance.
