Teri O'Meara

R&D Associate

Teri is an R&D Associate Staff Scientist at ORNL and Research Associate at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. She is broadly interested in developing interdisciplinary approaches to understand coastal ecosystem responses to shifting environmental conditions (e.g. changes inundation or precipitation, warming, etc.) by combining laboratory, field, and modeling techniques. She is currently part of the SMARTX, GenX, NGEE-Arctic, and COMPASS-FME project teams. These projects all focus on different aspects related to representing coastal processes within the Earth System Model E3SM. Her work centers on defining connections between vegetation dynamics and biogeochemical cycling and the role of environmental stress  in regulating these connections.
