Bio
Dr. Tim Younkin joined ORNL in 2021 as a staff researcher in the Flow, Thermal, and Data Science group of the Enrichment Sciences and Engineering Division. Tim's research focuses computational simulation of plasma-material interaction for enrichment and fusion applications. In 2012 Tim graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Physics. He received an MS in Nuclear Engineering at Georgia Tech as a Nuclear Regulatory Commission Fellow in 2014. In 2019 Tim completed his PhD. in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee before beginning his DOE Fusion Energy Sciences Postdoctoral Fellowship hosted at ORNL in 2020.
