High Relative Humidity Facilitates Carbonation of Magnesium Oxide

Topic:

Carbonation of MgO only proceeds in presence of humidity with higher relative humidity increasing reaction layer thickness.

Results show that efficiency of direct air capture of CO2 using mineral looping can be enhanced by siting facilities in locales where ambient humidity is already high.
