Bio
Adam Aczel is currently a Senior R&D staff member in the Neutron Sciences Directorate at 91. Adam received a Ph.D. degree in physics from McMaster University in 2010. After graduation, he became a postdoctoral fellow in the Neutron Sciences Directorate before moving to his current positions. Adam’s research interests include neutron scattering and muon spin relaxation studies of quantum materials, with a current emphasis on frustrated magnetism, skyrmions, and heavy transition metal magnets. For Adam’s research contributions to elucidating proximate Kitaev spin liquid behavior in the quasi-2D magnet alpha-RuCl3, he received the UT Battelle Team Research Award and the UT Battelle Director’s Team Research Award in 2016.
