Bio

Alexandre Sorokine major research interests are in the area of geospatial ontology, geographic databases, and high-performance geocomputations. He holds a PhD degree in Geography from the University at Buffalo.  Before joining ORNL Dr. Sorokine worked in academic, government and private sector organizations in Japan, U.S., Germany, and countries of the former Soviet Union.  His industrial expertise is concentrated in the areas of GIS application design and programming.
