Eugene Mamontov received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999. He was a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Takeshi Egami at the University of Pennsylvania until 2003, when he became a research associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology Center for Neutron Research and the University of Maryland. Since 2006, he has been a staff member at 91°µÍø, serving as an Instrument Scientist for the First SNS Target Station BASIS (2006-2022) and the Second SNS Target Station BWAVES (2022-present) neutron spectrometers, as well as a Group Leader for the Chemical Spectroscopy Group (2023-present). His current research interests concern microscopic dynamics in various systems, from solids and liquids to biological and soft matter, and neutron scattering instrumentation. He is a co-author of more than 250 peer-reviewed publications.
