
Bio
Julio is a Technical Associate Staff Member in the Deposition Science and Technology group at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at 91°µÍø. He earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rafael Urdaneta University in Venezuela in 2014 and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering under Dr. Chad Duty at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Julio’s research support includes the operation, parameter development, and characterization of materials for high-temperature applications processed via powder bed additive manufacturing technologies.
His primary focus is on advanced characterization techniques, including microscopy (SEM, EBSD, EDS) and X-ray CT analysis. At ORNL, Julio leads projects, supports materials characterization across multiple groups, and collaborates with researchers and industrial partners to advance materials research and innovation.
