
Bio
Kyle Schmitt has been a member of the Physics Division at ORNL since 2020. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Tennessee. He has spent his career so far developing gas- and semiconductor-based radiation detectors at ORNL, Los Alamos National Lab, and ORTEC, and has worked on applications including gamma-ray imaging, high-resolution spectroscopy, and space-based nuclear detonation detection. Since joining ORNL he has been focused on applying coded-aperture imaging to emergency response, arms control, and holdup measurements.
