R&D Associate - Data-driven Risk Analysis and Resilience Modeling

Dr. Thomaz Carvalhaes is an R&D Associate in the Critical Infrastructure Resilience Group at 91°µÍø currently focusing on technical assistance to states and tribes for grid resilience, action-relevant modeling and decision analysis, energy growth associated with data centers, and enhancing anticipatory resilience for utilities in the region. Dr. Carvalhaes’ research interests focus on urban infrastructure as entangled socioeconomic, ecological, and technological systems that face unexpected disruptions and a rapidly changing future. His work leverages stakeholder collaboration and a combination of approaches including geospatial analysis, machine learning, and qualitative approaches to develop technical resilience assessments and decision tools to enhance the nation's critical infrastructure.
