Dr. Weicheng Zhong joined 91°µÍø in 2019, and is currently a R&D associate in Radiation Effects and Microstructural Analysis Group of Materials Science & Technology Division. His research focuses on the examination and characterization of nuclear materials for fission and fusion applications. His expertise lies in assessing the interaction of hydrogen isotopes with materials under extreme environment, with a keen focus on hydrogen retention, permeation, and diffusivity in structural materials and plasma facing materials. In addition, Dr. Zhong specializes in using analytical electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) to investigate processing – microstructure – property relationship of various materials.
