Misalignment issues of the PWPT system have been addressed. The intercell power transformer has been introduced in order to improve load sharing of the system during a mismatch of the primary single-phase coil and the secondary multi-phase coils. It has been shown that implementation of the IPT causes balancing of the phase currents, both on ac and dc side of the rectifiers. Moreover, it has been shown that the simulated efficiency of the PWPT system with IPT is approximately 22% higher than the conventional PWPT without IPT.
